Blowbeat ontstond in de jaren '80, en kende door de jaren heen diverse bezettingen. Na een lange pauze in tweede helft van de negentiger jaren Engels er in 2002 eindelijk weer in "om weer een bezetting bij elkaar te kletsen die in staat was om die typische Blowbeat Cocktail te serveren" Het is nog waar ook. De actuele bezetting bestaat naast Ton E op vocals en gitaren, uit Arthur Lijten – drums, Eric Coenen – bas en Leendert haaksma – gitaar. In 2006 verschijnt het album  "Songs from the Crazy Planet". In Mei en Juni 2012 zal er eindelijk weer een reeks concerten gespeeld worden.

Blowbeat came to life in the eighties and went through several different  line-ups.  In the second half of the nineties the blowbeat train came to a halt. It was time for a break, a long break. In 2002 Ton E finally found a couple of musicians  that were able te serve that typical Blowbeat Cocktail once again. With Eric Coenen on bass, Arthur Lijten on drums and Leendert Haaksma on guitar they recorded ‘Songs From The Crazy Planet’ in 2006. In May/June 2012,  the band will finally hit the road again.
